Potencial Agro

Potencial Agro is the newest company of the Potencial Group, created to further strengthen and integrate the business ecosystem focused on a sustainable energy transition. With experience in biodiesel production since 2012, the group is now advancing into a new growth phase with the opening of one of Brazil’s largest soybean crushing plants, scheduled for 2026.

Located in the city of Lapa (PR), the plant will have the capacity to process 3,500 tons of soybeans per day, vertically integrating the biofuel production chain and reinforcing the commitment to clean, renewable energy of agricultural origin. The creation of Potencial Agro represents a strategic move to further connect Brazilian agribusiness with the energy solutions of today and the future, uniting innovation, sustainability, and value generation for the entire production chain.

Launch

Potencial Agro was launched in 2025 during the International Agroindustry Fair (Fenagra). The brand consolidates the group’s operations in agribusiness-related businesses, offering integrated solutions that span different stages of the production chain—from raw material to its transformation into renewable energy. The company was born with a mission to promote sustainable practices and innovative technologies, aligning agribusiness development with environmental preservation.

Biodiesel

Produced from renewable raw materials, Potencial Biodiesel is the ideal choice for those seeking performance with environmental responsibility. Recommended for transport fleets, agricultural machinery, generators, and industrial use, the product delivers high performance and contributes to the reduction of pollutant emissions, meeting legal requirements and sustainability commitments. It is clean energy with the quality and reliability of Potencial.

Soapstock Soybean

Soapstock Soybean soapstock is a byproduct generated during the biodiesel production process from degummed soybean oil. Rich in fatty acids and with high energy content, it is widely used as a raw material for the production of industrial soaps, animal feed, and organic fertilizers. At Potencial Agro, soapstock is utilized strategically within a circular economy model, contributing to the full utilization of resources and the strengthening of sustainable production chains.

Crude Glycerin

Potencial Crude Glycerin is supplied for high-demand industrial applications, such as the production of resins, paints, animal nutrition additives, and biofuels. With consistent quality and excellent technical performance, the product contributes to process efficiency and more sustainable practices in the production chain.

Refined Glycerin

Produced to high quality standards, Potencial Refined Glycerin is USP grade, ideal for applications in the cosmetics, pharmaceutical, and personal hygiene industries. Its purity, stability, and safety ensure superior performance in formulations that demand excellence in every component.

Methanol

We import high-quality Methanol, essential for biodiesel production and widely used in the manufacturing of formaldehyde, resins, solvents, and various industrial compounds. With a focus on efficiency, purity, and sustainability, the product offers reliable performance for demanding, large-scale processes.

Sodium Methylate

We distribute high-purity Sodium Methylate, an essential catalyst for biodiesel production and other specialized industrial chemical processes. With proven efficiency, the product delivers higher process yields and reliable performance for applications that require advanced technical standards.

Tocopherol

We export high-purity Tocopherol, a natural antioxidant recognized for its stability and efficacy. Used in formulations for the food, animal nutrition, cosmetics, and pharmaceutical industries, the product contributes to preservation, well-being, and health promotion, adding value with the quality that only Potencial offers the international market.

Glycerolysis

The first plant in Brazil to utilize the Glycerolysis process

“In October 2020, we began operating a second biodiesel plant, with a production capacity of 1,500 m³/day. The combination of the two plants brings the total daily production to 2,500 m³,” explains Luiz Meira, Superintendent Director of Potencial Biodiesel.

The construction of the second plant took approximately two years and incorporated a technology upgrade. Potencial became the first plant in Brazil to implement a process known as glycerolysis. “This process is responsible for reusing biodiesel subproducts, such as fatty acids and soapstock, and transforming them all into biodiesel,” explains Meira. Since then, Potencial Biodiesel produces only biodiesel and glycerin—items with higher added value.

Beyond the merit of this achievement, it is important to highlight that all investments made by the Potencial Group to elevate Potencial Biodiesel to a new level in the national market were predominantly derived from the group’s own resources.
